Color My World

I always tried to create my own world
One that was full of color
One that wasn't the grey and dull real world
The real world, the world I truly live in

The colors of my imaginary world would always fade though
I could only see grey
The real world was the only world there was it seemed

Since I couldn't create my own world I decided to look for one
To look for world that wouldn't be as cold and lifeless as the real one
One that I could live happily in,
and never have to fear of it dissolving away into grey

I looked
Time passed
Only more grey

Was there really no world in color out there?
I was beginning to think not
I was beginning to think there would only be the grey world,
and that I would forever live alone in it

Yet, even this world had at least one splash of color in it
It was the best color of all
One that not even the real, grey world could hide

A color that was the brightest and warmest of all colors
A color that stood out above all the others
A color that could bring hope
A color that could be my world

And I found it
I found the color, my world
I found you
